Close to the Mercat de Sant Antoni, is located this cool cafeteria where you can have a nice breakfast, lunch or dinner. This is one of my favourite places in Barcelona. It’s great to wake up a Sunday morning, get a shower and go the Federal for having a coffee, tea, toasts or good scrambled eggs.
You are going to find people from abroad, who are visiting Barcelona for a couple of days, but most of them, are expats who are living in the city.
I think that the owner is an Australian guy. So probably that’s why they serve nice breakfasts with scrambled eggs, as good brunches.
The menu is different depending on the moment of the day. So on Saturdays from 8 to 2 pm and Sundays from 9 to 16, you can get brunch, but during the afternoon the menu is based on dishes like hamburgers, salads or sheep ribs from New Zealand.
The ambience is great. Huge open windows and black and white are the predominant colours. You can either sit down sharing a big table with other people, or take a sit in a little table.
Spanish news papers and also English magazines as National Geographic, The economist or Conde Nast Traveller are provided.
All the products are homemade, and it’s possible to buy some of their sauces and marmalades. Pastries are also good ones.
Waiters speak perfect English as Spanish.
